It is interesting to note that the factory glass has UV filters. My eyeglasses have the self-darkening features, and they do not get dark inside my C-Max.

All glasses have UV filtering properties.  (Source:  Research lab partners.)

Glasses or glass? Can you post a link? I've had several cars in which my glasses went dark.

I volunteered in a research lab when I was younger/college days, and that's what they told me when they turned on the UV light.  I didn't need to wear the protective glasses because I already had some on.  I searched google.  Apparently only UVB is shielded by glass, unless you have a tint:

Thanks for the link. Interesting stuff. But in any case, as I said before, I've had cars where my polychromatic lenses darkened, and they don't with the C-Max. So there is some kind of protection in the glass.

Got Chunk tinted this am.   Privacy and temperature for an incoming baby were mandatory in the back of the fishbowl.

Went with Limo Tint in back (legal) and 55% front (not legal, but I have had it on a fishbowl 06 Scion xB and never had an issue).

Today it is in the 80s here in Orange County and the car is cooler and not as bright.

I like a dark cav-like driving compartment, so it fills the bill, but I wish I could have limo tinted the whole thing and even put a light tint on the windscreen.

Most sunbelt states allow for more agressive tinting, I guess we have too many gangsters here.

Got some before and after shots from the outside.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but a year later with my 5 month old in the back and a roadtrip coming up, it's time to tint the windows.  What brand of tint film are you using (SunTek, Huper, Madico, etc)??

So Altabrig, may I use you as a referral?  I plan on tinting mine within the coming weeks.

Sure.  Brig.

I believe the brand was SunTek, but I cannot remember.    Salvador should give you a solid price.  Any problems and they will re do the tint without question.  They are solid.

Stuff is nice.   I was in 108 degree heat with a 3 month old and it helps.

The ugly grey rug I put on the dash makes the biggest difference.  When I get out of work I think the cabin is 15-20 degrees F cooler than before the light grey dash mat.  That giant black dash just radiates.

Thank you sir!  I was hoping you would say SunTek because that's the brand I have my eyes on, after comparing against the others. :smile2:
