Got Chunk tinted this am.   Privacy and temperature for an incoming baby were mandatory in the back of the fishbowl.

Went with Limo Tint in back (legal) and 55% front (not legal, but I have had it on a fishbowl 06 Scion xB and never had an issue).

Today it is in the 80s here in Orange County and the car is cooler and not as bright.

I like a dark cav-like driving compartment, so it fills the bill, but I wish I could have limo tinted the whole thing and even put a light tint on the windscreen.

Most sunbelt states allow for more agressive tinting, I guess we have too many gangsters here.

Got some before and after shots from the outside.

Very nice! I did the same, but went a shade darker on the fronts. Love it!

Perfect Window Tint on Harbor in Santa Ana.  A mile or two North of the 405 on the right.  Salvador is the owner and Andres is the main installer.  They have done a few cars for me and I have been happy with the results.

Post some pics so we can see the gray darkness.  Are you at 85% light blockage on the fronts?

Looks good. I have had my last 5 cars done by a place in Chatsworth. Guy does amazing work. No purple, or bubbles. It's called the California tint shop. So Altabrig how come you did not tint the upper part of the windshield? I'm getting mine done next week and getting the top of windshield done as well.

Post a pic of yours with half of the screen tinted.  I just may take mine back for touch more of the grey.  The shop I took it to is not expensive and if you are unhappy for anyreason such as bubbles or anything else, they will re do it.   I am sure there are many good tint guys in OC and CA in general.

Not the greatest photo... would take a better one but my wife is out with the car. The fronts should be 79%.

Very nice tint work, guys! My C-Max is going to get the all around job done as soon as possible too!

Only drawback I do not like with window tint is that is it quite easy scratched.

Just roughly, how much should I to expect to pay for all around tint except windshield?

^ I paid $180 (what they ask) and surely could have negotiated $20-30 lower.   The guy  guarantees their work for the life of ownership and do work for several local toyota dealers and the local Bentley, Lambo, supper $$ dealers and do good work. They will redo a job if you have any issues and remove it for free if you get a ticket or decide you don't like it.

If you shop around you can probably get close to Tijuana prices in areas of East Palo Alto or San Jose - sub $100.

I have heard that East Palo Alto is getting better since Ikea moved in.... not that I go there much!

I have paid $250 on my previous cars for 3M film all around... It might not be worth the premium, I don't have much experience comparing films... What I noticed is that it can scratch easilly.

The new plaza and demolition of whiskey gulch has helped EPA but I have seen it go through a few resurgences, over the years, and they never seem to stick.

Glad you posted this.  We're taking our car into the dealer on Thursday for the tint job they threw in as part of the deal.  Going with 35% in front and 5% limo in back after talking to the tint guy and salesman today.  They do their own cars 35%/15%, but we thought the 15% allowed too much to be seen inside.

Have very dark rear in our Odyssey now, but it must be 10%-15% as we can see through it if the angle is right.

Any problem with the limo in the back at night?  Does the backup camera make most issued just go away?

I have had no issue with limo at night.   The glass has some serious surface area real estate on the Cmax, and it seems to let in plenty of light IMHO.

Are you completely satisfied with the window tint honemch?  Would you recommend this company and if so, a specific installer?  It looks good in the photo you posted.  Are you happy with the shades and darkness of the tint that you selected?  Would you please let us know the cost of the tint job from the company that you used?

The company's website says

"Our films are available in a variety of colors, shades, and brands to satisfy your needs. You can choose from Infinity OP, High Performance Smoke, Charcoal and True Grey or, all metal film, or our Classic non-reflective charcoal and grey films. We also use Carbon Series from Sun Tek that doesn't interfere with cell phones, radio, or navigation system signals"

What type of window tint did you have installed on your Energi and have you noticed any affect on your mobile phone reception?  I have heard that some window films can affect mobile phone signals. Thanks.

Maybe ceramic has some effect on reception.  My tint does not.
