I had a new key made for our 2017 C-Max SE - ours is not a push button start. The locksmith had problems programming the key and went through the fast on/off procedure over and over again for about a half hour. Come to find out it was their key. He got a different one and it worked fine.

Driving home I saw that the check engine light was on. I put a scanner on it and got a p2610 "engine off timer" error. I reset the error.

I'm guessing it is because of the way the ignition was cycled repeatedly for so long? I'll watch it as I drive it for awhile, but do you think any damage was done to the vehicle?
