The 2013 C-max I bought from my brother-in-law... turns our to actually be a 2014, lol.  I got a better deal that I thought.

He put in a claim to change our the modem on it and they never swapped it out.  I called the dealership and they said they would still do it for free.

Do I need to ask them to do:

SSM 46534 - 2012-2017 BEV/Energi – Telematics Control Unit (TCU) - Inoperative Remote Commands From MyFord Mobile Phone App - Built On Or Before 24-Mar-2017

As well, or is putting a new modem in it good enough?

And will the new modem even work?  I have read mixed results.

**Edit-- sorry, wrong subforum***

Wow, I have read lots of horror stories of the new modem (or the old one maybe) causing battery draining issues.

Is the MFM app useful at all?  I haven't been able to try it yet since I have the old modem.

I am debating if it is even worth taking the car (which currently works, only no MFM) and risking the modem upgrade.

MFM is really nice to have, I would get it working if you can.  You can do alot, its light years ahead of others.  My wife's Mini Countryman Mini connected is not nearly half as good as MFM in my opinion.

Thanks, Raja.

I appreciate your opinion.  If the dealership will actually do it for free (they claim they will) then it will be worth the drive to the OC.

I really appreciate MFM, I think it's worth having it done.

Well the upgrade to modern went off without a hitch.

I convinced the service representative to upgrade the sync 2 as well but when I picked it up they claimed it was the newest software... Which means they didn't even check. Owell sync 3 is going in soon anyways.

MFM works... To start the car and lock the doors.

Is there supposed to be climate control in the app?

You can set Go Times in the app which let you say "be 65/72/85 degrees at X:Y5/0 AM/PM".
