What exactly does this TSB mean? It makes no sense to me.

I did ask the ford dealer what it meant and he just blew it off as something I missed and it wasnt important any way.   

 

Can someone explain what this is all about?

That's been around since, like, forever so another example of dealer ignorance.  It's an extension of the MFT system from the original 3 yr. bumper to bumper warranty to 5 years.  It's for the control unit for the MFT which were really flaky early on.  A major software update fixed most of the big glitches but some needed new hardware.  Frequent reboots/blank center screens were a common symptom.

Thanks Doug,

 

This makes perfect sense now.  Fortunately, mine seems pretty stable, unless switching to the backup cam is a symptom.  If thats the case, I am not going to be able to find any visual troubles while trying to resolve the intermittent backup cam problem my C Max has.
