Agreed. Unfortunately it was a well kept secret here stateside. The only reason I happened to find out about it was trolling the hybrid category on Carmax. Otherwise would have likely completely passed me by.


Sad to see it take the slow and painful death though commercially. I, too, plan to keep mine til, at the very least, it becomes uneconomical to make repairs on. Barring that, drive it into the ground. The pedigree of the hybrid transmission is too good to just toss aside IMHO. Especially when transmissions are usually the first thing in most cars to cause expensive repair issues down the line.
