Hello,

I just purchased a new CMAX Energi, it was a dealer vehicle with 2500 miles on it. Sticker price was $31k. Car has comfort package, 402a, and panoramic sunroof. I got what I feel was a smoking deal, $18.9k before taxes and fees. I also will get the $4k tax credit since it was essentially a new vehicle.

I am very excited and have enjoyed driving it so far. Will be doing the majority of my trips in electric only mode. I am looking to purchase a trailer hitch and cargo carrier. Also any suggestion on a cellphone holder? Mine doesn't have the navigation package.

I agree and think you got a great deal. I have a 2013 CMAX and still love it just as much now as when I got it. One caution i'll pass along is that the thermal management for the HVB is not great. In hot weather or multiple charges per day can overheat and potentially damage the HVB. active monitoring with an external device(I use a ScanGuage II) is a big help.

Enjoy the EV driving but use the ICE as well. I get mid 40s MPG when driving on longer trips outside of the EV range.

Tom

Congrats and welcome to the forum, great deal indeed!   You're going to love this car, best performing vehicle I've had :)

CONGRATS on the great deal!  :happy feet:  and  :welcome:

Get a garmin factory refurb.  They are cheap and offer so much more now since cell phones became competition.  The one I have has a forward facing "dash cam" that records and also uses that eye for forward collision warning and lane warnings (that actually work).  Also has decent voice control for hands free control while driving (unlike factory NAV) and you don't have to worry about cell phone battery (constant plug/unplugging) or the phone getting too hot like mine does when I use to use it on trips.  Also free traffic and map updates for life unlike Ford that wants to charge $150 for updates.

Thanks for the tip. Is yours mounted to the dash? I feel the dash is so high that it would be odd having it there.

Thanks for the tips. I have done some reading on the forum and understand not to go about 40-45 on EV only and to keep the bars below 2. I live in the NW so fairly cool climate. I will make sure to delay charging if I come back from a drive when it it warm out.

No, I mount it on the lower left windshield.  It doesn't block my sight lines there. The forward facing camera swivels so you can aim it to the middle of the car/lane for the lane warning to work properly.
