Can anyone tell me how to learn the true miles driven with the motor actually on? If the vehicle is driven mostly just on electric only power and the engine rarely ever kicks on, why do we need to change the oil as often as a normal vehicle?

We don't...change the oil every 20000 miles but in motor reality that would be closer to 10k miles.

Use Lifetime summary if you have it, or trip meter 2 and a spreadsheet to keep track of ICE vs EV miles.
