I'm considering purchase of a used CMax Energi. Have done a lot of reading up and taken a test drive. Lot of car for the money on the used market and would love to.

 get one.

Main concern is storage, and I'm almost over the hump (pun intended) on that thanks to other posts to this forum, but was wondering if any of you have had experience transporting a large musical instrument in your Energi on a regular basis. Specifically, we're wondering how we'll transport a full-sized cello case back and forth to lessons and concerts, with a 2-3 people in the car. Ideally we'd be able to put down one side of the 60/40 split and slide the cello in either through a rear passenger door or the hatchback so that half was in the passenger compartment and half was in the hatchback area.

Anyone had experience with this and is it do-able?

Thanks

My son has a full size cello case. I wish I took a picture before we traded it in. Best practice, (my son is 12 and preferably sit on passenger side rear seat). Fold down left side, put main body behind the right rear seat and diagonal to folded down side. Sits well and room for three....

The privacy cover is removable and sat in the house for most of the time the C-MAX was with us....

I have fit a BMX bike with both sides folded down. Not the easiest thing to do, but doable...

I have to take the front wheel off my road bike to get it to fit.

I have carried a cray amount of stuff in my car from Lumber 12" wide 8' boards  to a table saw in a box.  All a matter of looking at the item and deciding which dimension will be the challenge, I fit a 50" flat screen TV in the box, but i did have to slide my seat up a little.  One thing that a friend did who had a drum set was to take the passenger seat out of his car you have a lot of space then.  the extra height on the CMAX is a major plus.  Pick up some blankets  or king size bedspreads from a Thrift store to protect the car and items from scratches.
