I'm looking to replace an O2 sensor myself. I was hoping someone here has replaced it themselves and can tell me where the "bank 1 sensor 1" sensor is located? I found a parts diagram online but it's still unclear to me where it's actually located under the hood.

Any guidance would be kindly appreciated.

Thanks!

IDK for sure on the CMAX but generally one sensor is about 6 inches downstream from the engine on the exhaust manifold.  The second one is next to or close to the cat underneath the car.  Both are generally easy to spot and get to.

Edit: just took a look under the hood and forgot the motor has the exhaust manifold on the backside.  Ouch!  That's going to be a whole lot more difficult to reach.

Thanks! I think I found it. I took off the top of the intake (the large plastic piece with the air filter) and stuck my camera phone back there and found it. Sheesh! It's not going to be easy. I'll be working blind, in an awkward position.

I ordered the OEM part and a O2 tool to replace it. I will give it a shot.

If I can pull it off, I wonder if the engine light will shut off or will I need to reset it somehow?

Thanks!

If that is the cause, then it should shut off after about 5 run cycles or if you disconnect the 12v battery or use a code reader to clear it.
