Just purchase a used 2013 C-Max a few days ago, we also have a 2012 Nissan Leaf,

Would we be able to use the Leaf charger on the C-Max, i believe and EVSE j1772 will work but wanted to make sure to avoid any issues.

thanks

Should work just fine. Wasn't there one under the driver's seat in the C-Max?

thanks .. there was one in the C-Max, just wondering if we can just use the Leaf one for both cars at home and use the Cmax as the designated portable

Yup.  EVSE's are made to the J1772 standard to be plug & play with each other.

In fact the standard is set up so the EVSE and the car talk to each other and make sure they agree with each other before power is even sent over. So worst case it will simply refuse to charge but won't harm the car or EVSE. But as others have pointed out it should work without an issue.

And, of course, you could charge the Leaf with your Ford cable as well.

I've used mine to charge a friend's Model S.
