I just bought a Cmax energi 2015 with 8k miles.

as I drove the first two three days, i noticed my feet are freezing. no matter what function i put it on, defroster... etc, it still blows on my feet.

Fast forward to today its been in service for two weeks for various issues. Ford Service manager states "All the Cmax are blowing on the feet, this is how they were designed"

Am I crazy? I had to turn my AC off in the summer just so i dont have toe-cicles.

There are arrows on the control panel.  To the face, to the feet.  Try to push one then the other then push again to turn them off and see if anything changes.

if not there might be a duct that is popped loose from its fitting, if someone was working under the dash for example.

If he says that go to the lot and try a couple, but first see if the service manager is willing to put his money where his mouth is.

Lifetime loaners for you as well as free oil changes, vs you bringing in pizza and donuts for the shop.

PS: stop by another dealership first, but mine does not blow at my feet all the time.

Yeah i tried a 2016 cmax today, still blows on the feet even when you request up/face only. I had the sales rep put his hand by the gas pedal to feel it. even he was shocked. so strange. Now im torn, is it a flaw in design or can it be repaired?

My 2016 owner's manual, page 109, says "Note: You may feel a small amount of air from the footwell vents regardless of the air distribution setting."

Just checked mine last evening while wearing shorts and sandals (still in the 90's here) and, yes, I could feel cold air coming out the footwell vents in both Auto a/c and in manual face level vent mode.  I guess its not strong enough for me to have ever noticed it while wearing pants & shoes/socks.  I've never had a comfort issue with the HVAC system except for the Auto function being a little too "ECO" with fan speeds in the peak of summer right now; I usually need to bump it up a couple of speeds for adequate flow.  The rest of the year I rarely touch it other than adjusting temp.
