The manual says that when the headlights are in the auto position and the windshield wipers in the rain sense position the kights are supposed to come on when it is raining. that does not happen in my Energi with the 303 option package. Others experience?

Mine don't come on right away when the wipers are only come on intermitently and I gave up worrying about it for now.

The manual says they only come on when rain causes the wipers to come on continuously, and you have autolamps on.

But the law in most states says that they have to be turned on whenever the wipers are on. The feature is less than useful if you have to turn the lights on manually because auto doesn't comply with the legal requirement.

My wipers come on automatically during rain but even though my headlamps are in auto mode, they don't turn on in daylight automatically with the wipers. I'll have to check the manual on that one too.

FYI: In CA, you only have to have your headlights on when your wipers are in continuous motion...

Same here. Was taught that lights should be turned on when wipers are turned to on "steady". Of course, in canada the headlamps are always illuminated, but its good to turn the taillights on too.

Wel that IS how it shall be with the C-Max. I was always a fan of DRLs, so this is a small step down for me.

These auto mfg'ers need to wake up and put daytime running lights standard on all vehicles. It's an option on Energi, but only for fleet orders (thanks, Ford...)
Canadian vehicles all have daytime running lights, and it's a very very good idea. Relying on drivers to remember to manually turn on headlights is like asking our gov't to balance the budget :-)

I like DRL's too, but with a hybrid running in EV mode I can live without it.  I used my rain sensor for the first time

last night. It's a great feature for light rain and misty conditions.

Most delay wipers run at a set time (ie every 4 seconds ETC.) and become annoying. The rain sense setup only wipes when needed. I find it to be a very useful feature.

Just like the auto dimming rearview mirror
