Hi. I have a 2013 Energi which I purchased used The dealer gave me just one key fob.

A few months ago, I somehow used the touch panel to program the fob. I am now trying to change the settings. However, I do not see the My Key option under the settings (image attached). What might I be doing wrong?

Thanks

Dan

My Key option is in the left screen, not the touch panel.  Take a look in there you can create and delete my key there.

I looked at the left screen as well. Under My Key it only displays the miles since I last set it. I've tried pressing the button again but don't see any other options.

I just looked at mine, only option I have is create my key.  There is an information page also, look there.  Mine says 2 admin keys, no mykeys.  See what yours says.

Mine just says 1 admin key and tells me the mileage since the last setting. It is under the Information section. There is no My Key option under the main settings menu. (see attached)

You say you only have one fob, I think that has to remain the admin key. If you made it a mykey, you could not change it, so it probably will not let you.

Just a guess I don't use mykey.

I test drove an off-lease Focus Electric the other day an perusing the CarFax report I noticed that the Ford dealers reprogram all the keys to the car as part of processing the lease return. Since your car had 2 keys at some point, I suspect it was reprogrammed to only recognize the single key to prevent the previous owner from potentially messing with the new owner. As bobs suggests, I think you lose the ability to do anything with MyKey if only one key is programmed to the car.

From everything I've read that seems to be the case. It was an admin key, now it isn't. Which means I've got to pay Ford some shakedown cash to fix it.

Is there any way you know of (other than the mykey settings) where I can stop the car from honking twice every time I walk away from it?  I realize it is upset because its not coming with me, but it kind of makes everyone nearby turn around and look at me.

Turn the car off?

There is a whole topic on it.

Been reading those threads but there are no solutions.

As far as Mykey, it appears I inadvertently took off the admin designation some how. The car 'senses' this and does not display the option.

Still, I would love to know if there is some secret setting where I can get that double honking to stop without having to shut down my car.
