I don't want to tie up my phone, I need it for other things.  I'll look around and see if I can get a good price for one.  Then if I do I guess I'm going to need all kinds of formulas for the parameters.  What's the best ones to watch besides the obvious HVB temperature?

Have you placed the decimal point correctly?  The Energi charger draws about 13A; mine is drawing 3.114kW out of the local level 2 station (3114W/240V = 12.9A; the volts are a guesstimate).  I'd be very surprised if the regen can approach that value.

I was also under the impression that the ticks on the gauge are 5kW each, so a max 32A propulsion draw (6 ticks) is about right.

I believe so, i set the xgauge to what i was given, but i can double check.  Sitting idle with no load is about 1.6A.  Since mine is a hybrid it may act different, or maybe needs a different config for the xgauge?  Plus the Amp reading might be different, as i'm assuming its reading is directly from the battery, which is DC, so the Amp reading from the Charger on AC would be different than the DC on the battery side.

How much is one of these, $160?

This is the one i bought  http://a.co/6bFqKn0

SOC is the most important one I think while driving in Hybrid Mode/EV later. There are posts on this forum with the codes for ScanGauge and maybe other types too. I also monitor WT and TFT(trans fluid temp). :smile2:

Here is a thread for Forscan codes:http://fordcmaxenerg...auge#entry35287

Here thread for ScanGaugeII:  http://fordcmaxenerg...ming-c-max-ffh/

This time of year you should add it to your Christmas list. I got my ScanGauge as a Christmas gift after I had added it to me Amazon Wish list. It you do get one let me know and I will send you a list of over 20 xgauges that I have programmed. I find that my interest vary over time so I shift to look at different gauges depending on my current interest.

If you really want to get your youtube views up, make a new video about running out of gas and what the car does when that happens.

That's funny. :smile2:  LOL  I would have to relearn how to do that again.  For those that don't know if you run out of gas the just switches to EV and drive to a Gas Station. The CMAX will start immediately after filling up.   I also thought about showing that the CMAX Hybrid/NRG can EV at 85 mph.  :smile2: If anyone has any ideas let me know.

Yesterday We made our normal trip up to North Atlanta(49mi.) to see our new grandson and see the New Star Wars movie. :smile2:  I started out and ended up with 53.9 mpg, outside temps 45*F going Up and 35*F going home with 40 mi. FWY and 9 miles, 45 mph City. I did have 5 miles of stop and go HWY construction going( extra 30 min.) up and nothing going home. Better than I would expect given the temps.  :smile2: You Tube videos up to 4,550 now, Hoping these are helping new members to improve their MPG's this winter. :smile2:  For those who haven't seen them:

I have made three YouTube Videos for driving a CMAX the way it was designed to be driven, Called "How to drive a CMAX Hybrid to get great gas mileage",Also " CMAX Mods to improve MPG's" and "Hypermiling to improve MPG's".

https://www.youtube...._id=5uHoZ5QhVXs

Efficiency and Aerodynamic Mods:  The First thing to do is to raise your tire pressure of your Michelin's to 50psi which is safe to do and I got 64k miles for each set of tires on my CMAX.   :smile2:https://www.youtube...._id=Xmuw6275PRw

Hypermiling Video not recommended for those who can't focus on situational  awareness of traffic around you all the time. https://www.youtube...._id=s09mywF78g4

Thanks for the videos!  Watched the first one and it's great seeing someone driving by the fancy new hybrid gauges (new to me, as this is my first hybrid), very informative!

Do you have a Ford Focus Electric? I'm thinking Grill and wheel covers might improve your range by 5-10 mi. per charge. IMO :smile2:

Yep got one of each now :)

I think my wife would scold me for doing goofy things like that to our cars though...

The Focus is hers, I drive the C-Max, but only when she's driving the kids... Tuesdays I do that :D

She happens to like the C-Max better due to the higher seating position. (I had to raise the Focus driver seat a bit as a result, and now I bump my head from time to time getting out... lol)

Using the 2 bar gas technique, my drive home tonight was all hybrid mode (battery depleted this morn and the electricians only just trenched the conduit for my workplace EVSE today... so excited!)

MFM reported 16 EV miles out of 27, 44mpg. This morning with a full Energi battery (and driving my usual way, not Paul's way) I had 18 EV miles out of 27, 50mpg. Can't wait to see what happens Wednesday... tomorrow I'll be driving the Focus.

This last week since fill up temps have been 20's - 30*F, but still have 52.7 mpg on Smart Gauge.  In theory I should have lost 7 mpg (-2 mpg for each 10*F drop in temperature). So instead of 7 I've lost 2 mpg. smile.png  You Tube videos upto over 4800 now. smile.png
