LOL :smile2:  I'm guessing that would take a lot of time and effort. Do people actually make money doing that? I have thought about doing more videos, but I need to update to new Laptop, not in the budget right now. :(

You would be surprised then how many people monetize their channel and they can make some serious money.  Its all based off number of views that you get your money.  I think its about $0.01-0.02 per view or something like that.  I'm not sure what the requirements are, but you have to have a fair amount of views to be able to Monetize.

There are a Lot of people that Live off of the money they make from their YouTube Channel.

I was wondering if anyone has looked into a ECM Tuner for our Hybrids to improve fuel economy?headscratch.gif

If you don't have the lifetime summary screen in the left display after shutdown you are out of luck. That display was available early in 2013 but latter in the 2013 model year it was removed. There is no way to get it back if it is not there.

Sorry,

Last production date with Lifetime Summary is June 30, 2013.

I barely made the cut, bought my car August 29th, production date of June 13th.

Wouldn't want it any other way, so glad I got in before the Ford excess information hacking started...

As far as monetizing videos, you need thousands of views, not 100's.

With warmer temps (80-90*F) speeds 40-55 mph and a bike on the back half the time, I'm getting 60.5mpg, with 230 miles on this tank. Using the info from these videos you should expect similar MPG's. smile.png

YouTube Video views are up to 548 and between three FORD CMAX/FFH Forums we are up to 3280 views.smile.png  Current tank at 59.4 mpg at 411 miles, looking like I'll reach 800 miles on this tank.smile.png Has anyone been using this technique seen an improvement in mpg's?

my last tank was 49.2 on the trip and 49.03 at the pump.

I don't have any grill covers on currently, the weather seems to go from 90 degrees one day and 54 the next.  Been very busy with work/kids i haven't spend any time with the cover with license plate issue.

I've been in a hurry a lot lately too, so i haven't been driving as well as i can, Plus a lot of hills.

I did get 63.5 on a trip the other day.

Just filled up my tank, actual 59.9 mpg,826 mi. and 13.8 gal.  So about 50% HWY with 2- 100 mi. trips on I-85/I-285 and about 30% of the time with bike on bike rack. smile.png

This is just an idea of what can be done now with all the tips from the YouTube videos and warmer temps.smile.png

Was bumbling around on google, reading about atkinson-cycle engines, and found this. Probably old news to a lot of you, but I found it interesting. I would guess Ford would have done this already if it actually worked. http://www.winonaren...s_2_printed.pdf

Unfortunately this is misinformation, FORD and Prius Hybrid systems are very different, FORD 's Hybrid System is designed to run in EV only for good distances with 2-30hp motors and can run up to 85mph. A good CMAX Driver should be getting better than 50% EV only driving distance.  A Prius would be lucky to get 20% EV time, the ICE runs most of the time. Trying to compare CMAX to a Prius is just ridiculous, FORD's 2liter ICE seems to run the most efficient at the 2 BAR mark on the Empower Smart Gauge which works out to 2k-2.5k rpms, much higher than the Prius. If you watch My first video the ICE runs above 2k rpms and uses the extra power to charge the HVB very quickly as compared with Prius. Another important thing is you don't want to get your (SOC) state of charge above 50% intentionally, it seems like the efficiency goes down so you should be in the 38-48% SOC with ScanGaugeII most of the time, or lower than half way Smart Gauge. :smile2:  In the paper you will notice he had the HVB 55-60% actual SOC where he should have been getting an EV assist which isn't running as efficiently because the ICE isn't working at 2BARs. And again My YouTube Videos explain what to do to get Great MPG's. :smile2:

Just got back from Lighthouse trip to Virginia Coast and figured out a strategy for keeping WT up when using A/C. I turn the A/C on going uphill when I need the ICE and turn the A/C button off going down hill, still leave fan on in recirculate. This turns off the Radiator fan when the ICE isn't creating heat and keeps WT higher, I was seeing 170's *F WT with A/C on all the time with center Grill Cover and partial Grill Cover on and OT around 90*F.sad.png

I still like cooler than hotter for the ice.  Things live longer cooler in general.  The little bit of efficiency lost because you're not choking the engine with grill covers doesn't matter for me all that much.  Driving around the city with the ICE when I go fill up the tank its showing 723 to 753 miles range for the ICE plus 30 more miles for the HVB.  I'm pretty happy with that, jeez, what car can you fill up and get over 750 miles range??

When you turn the AC off, then later turn it back on it will draw more power to cool itself back down.  You may lose a little bit of efficiency due to that as its needing more power but its insignificant as it shouldn't take long if you only turn it off for just the downhill and back on for the level section of the road.

How many views on your youtube videos now?

630 total views for 3 videos. :smile2:  Going on the FWY with a cold ICE I can watch my MPG's going down for about 15 miles with the Grill Covers on and by 20 miles it's going back up when WT is up to 210*F.  FORD isn't worried about temps below 246*F which is the top of the white line on the Smart Temp Gauge and I'm usually in the 220-233*F range on the FWY most of the time. At 157K mi. I'm not using a noticeable amount of oil on 13k ICE mi. oil change and got my best BlackStone Lab report too.  If you aren't up to 202*F you are wasting gas. :(  Here is a copy of FORD Hotline Assistance Request for the operating temp range for ICE.
