So I am looking to get better fuel mileage when the car is operating as a hybrid. I have heard good stuff about Archoil AR6200 so I took advantage of a promotion from Powerstrokehelp.com for a free sample of the fuel additive. I think that this would be a good product for our cars since the fuel in our tanks can sit for a long time. I know some of you go months between fill ups. I have only had my car since the end of December and am still learning how to get the most out of it. Last tank was over 900 miles and 76 MPG so far this tank I am at 96 MPG and 440 miles. My goal is 1000 miles and 100 mpg. I will start using the archoil on my next fill update with what if any changes I see.

$45 will buy you 20 gallons of gas which should get you about 900 miles.  This product needs to more than double your current 900 mile range per tank to be worthwhile?

Yes $45 is a lot but it treats 640 gallons of fuel. So that $0.07 per gallon extra. That is cheaper than going from regular to premium. They claim 2-3 mpg improvement in the diesel trucks. So we will just need to see what it will do.

What are you adding, like 0.17oz per tank full?

Let us know how it works for you,

I still don't see how that little can make a difference. We will see but i'm still a 3/4 of a tank so it will be a few weeks till i need to fill up.

Why wait, put some in and top off the tank, reset the meters and start over.

But remember, its not a fair test if the last tank the weather was colder outside than it is the next tank.  You need consistency in weather to really know better.  If you want to know for sure, might be best to drive long distance and burn up as much fuel as you can in a couple of hours and see if there is any difference.  Waiting 6 weeks for example to burn an entire tank will have too many variables included from the weather to skew the results.

Just my 2 cents worth...

So I ran a test first with out and then with. I did not see a difference I got almost the same numbers.  I only used 1.2 gallons of gas that is not much for a test I will run this tank and see if i notice any more changes.

Wait, it was higher without than with?

I agree though, small sample do it some more.
