What's your easily obtained MPGe
Posted 12 December 2016 - 08:49 AM
Here's what I got today on my daily trip to school: http://imgur.com/3FvqERZ
Subtracting regen miles, that comes out to about 300 watts per mile. There's a 2 mile stretch of highway which I drove at 60-65mph. Then mostly stop and go traffic at 45mph

134 MPGe is very very low, like almost my worst lowest MPGe when driving in EV mode. The lowest I get is about 127 MPGe when its 0F outside.
Average would be around 170 MPGe, the best maybe around 220 MPGe in the summer.

During the nicer months I average around 62mpge. I get maybe 175mpge on the way in to work and maybe 45mpge on the way home.

A great majority of my trips are very short (under 5 miles) so temperatures play a very large role in my overall efficiency because HVAC is such a HUGE part of the energy usage ratio. Summers and winters can vary widely from 60's to 140. Milder spring and fall seasons with little to no HVAC I can see 150-180+. Lifetime I'm at 86 and rising rapidly (started life as a 100+ mile/day commuter at 44mpg).

Yeah, I'm only starting to get a better handle on the winter driving, but it looks like I'm dropping down to closer to 100mpge on the way in and sub 30mpge on the way home.
