You can also check your VIN on Ford's ETIS site to review any outstanding field service actions. The modem recall may or may not show on generic recall sites but on ETIS it will.

I went to the ford dealer in Lancaster ohio and they said it wasn't a recall just a field service action. What do i need to tell them to get a new modem? The guy didn't believe me and since i have only owned my NRG for 10 days, I do not have a letter from ford saying my modem has been recalled.

Did you get this resolved? I've just gone through a lengthy process and I have a TON of information if anyone is still having MyFordMobile type trouble in this thread. I don't want to spam it unless folks here are still having trouble - I notice most of the posts here are from earlier in 2016.

My new modem replaced on Oct 2 still does not work. no remote commands, charge/drive log is inaccurate, and get set go times.
