Do not like the doors to lock once the car is in motion. Dealer says that its programmable. Does anyone know how to turn off this function?

There's a bunch of informative YouTube videos that describes this and related process, uploaded by 'fordowner'.

I think this is the one you need to watch:

Mike;

Thank you very much -- wow, some programming! I'll need the video in the car to remember all those steps.

Looks like it is also on page 74 of the PDF version of the owner's manual. I didn't. Low this was a programmable feature. Thanks!

Wow! Are there other programmable features? Is there a list documented somewhere?

The means that unlocks your car doorways is really quite intriguing. It has to be very dependable because it is going to unlock your doorways tens of thousands of times over the life of your car.

The page 74 procedure:

Enabling or Disabling Autolock and Autounlock
Note: Your authorized dealer can perform this procedure, or you can do the procedure yourself.
To enable or disable these features, do the following:
Note: You will have 30 seconds to complete the procedure.

1. Switch the ignition on.
2. Press the power door unlock button three times.
3. Switch the ignition off.
4. Press the power door unlock button three times.
5. Switch the ignition on. The horn will chirp indicating the programming mode has been entered.

Autolock: Press the power door unlock control, then the lock control. The horn will chirp once if autolock was disabled or twice (one short and one long chirp) if autolock was enabled.

Autounlock: Press the power door lock control, then the unlock control.
The horn will chirp once if autounlock was disabled or twice (one short and one long chirp) if autounlock was enabled.
6. Switch the ignition off. The horn will chirp once to confirm the procedure is complete.
Note: The autounlock feature can be enabled or disabled independently of the autolock feature.

My wife would be locking them manually anyway, so I just live with the default...

Does this car have the capability to lock itself once the key fob is, say, further than 20' away from the car?
I had a Corvette recently with that feature and I loved it.  When I got out of the car, I didn't have to fumble around in my pockets for the FOB,.. the car would just lock itself after it no longer sensed the FOB.

Don't think that's an option, bob. But just touch the little dark square on the door handle, and the doors will lock. Touch the inside of the door handle to unlock. I leave the fob in my pocket 99% of the time, and have to look at the icons to remember what the buttons are on the rare occasions I need it.

Thanks large.  Somehow in my studies I overlooked the black plastic door handle square.
