Just wondering if anyone has tried the OPT7 LED headlight replacements in the Cmax.

Thanks

The headlights in the C-Max use reflector housings. Aftermarket HID and LED kits will likely result in huge amounts of glare.
Unless you have the housings modified to be projector, I wouldn't expect it to turn out well.
An H9 halogen bulb might be an option for more light without adding too much glare

Hi Ruby.

What are the three bulb types for our cars: low beam, high beam and fog lights? Further, would Sylvania Silverstar bulbs you use for headlights be available for the two other light types? I like the idea of getting a whiter light color, but prefer not to go the way of HID conversions due to potential glare issues and of course, cost. Lastly, is it difficult to replace these lights?

Thanks!

I used them for just the low beams, although they are the same bulbs as the fog lights, if I remember correctly.  The install requires removing the lens assembly, but if you have small nimble hands, you may be able to squeeze back there.

I too, wanted a whiter light, and did not wish to add the expense and complications of HID.  I am extremely happy the color output and brightness level.  They make my C-Max look a little more "premium".

Watch this video, it shows the whole process.

Ruby,

After reading at some length today about bulb options, I am leaning toward the ones you use, however, I am concerned with the 125 hour life. I don't do much night driving, but that seems rather low. The lights aren't cheap either, but less expensive than HID solutions. If I wasn't so concerned with blinding incoming traffic with a HID light not designed for our reflectors, I'd go that way; much whiter and brighter.

Well, I may take a chance with the low beans and see how it plays out.

Maxjoy-

I never realized these bulbs were rated for only 125hrs, although I see that on the advanceautoparts site, I cannot find that spec on the Sylvania site.

I've been using these bulbs for 2-1/2 years, and I drive many night time hours.  I'm  sure these lights have been on for at least three times that, with no issue.

Look around for discount at AAP, I paid under $40.

and...I jinxed myself, apparently.  Passenger sidelight failed last night.  Still, over 30 months of use, I'm still happy with them.  I will buy a replacement set again.  I really do like they way the light the road.

While ZXE is one of their high end bulbs, I believe the Ultra provides more light output.  Someone on candlepowerforums, IIRC, noted that the Philips high end bulbs should be better because they don't use a coating on the bulb tip as compared to the Ultra....

(Just another option...)
