I got an Explorer for two weeks and drove it to GA and back no charge. :smile2:

They gave us a Ford Focus to use on Tuesday morning.  Only needed to use it 2 days, because the C-max was ready by Thursday afternoon.  They replaced the eCVT, and noise is gone.  The invoice listed pitted differential and transfer shaft bearings as the problem.  Fortunately, the repair was fully covered under the 8yr/100K warranty.  I could smell coolant today after driving it into the city and back, and noticed some on the top of the reservoir above the controller.  Hopefully the technician just overfilled it.

So I am curious if anyone has posted a video or audio clip of what the failure regularly sounds like? Mine's now just breaking 67k on the odo which while not that much I do get a tad worried as I get closer to 100k. And I'm not exactly sure if the telltale sounds are subtle or not.

The noise definitely wasn't that loud in our car.  If you turned up the radio, you probably wouldn't even notice it.  Also, you couldn't feel it in the steering wheel or brake pedal.  I recorded the sound with my video camcorder from the front and back seats of the car when I was trying to figure out the location.  I'll try to post it here when I have time.

The car is not even moving in this video?  Its about 1 minute and stopped the whole time.  Did you by any chance post the wrong video?
