My car alarm just went off for no apparent reason. Car is parked in my driveway and charging (240v) with doors unlocked. Suddenly the horn started beeping and the lights flashing. I was in the house, looked out, but no one around. I hit the lock button on the key fob and the alarm stopped. Went out to see if there was an indication of a malfunction, but all looked well. Car turned on and warned me that it was still plugged in, which it was. Has anyone else experienced NRG's alarm activating for no apparent reason?

Nope.  No issues with that.

Other than the remote being activated in your pocket, I can not think of any known issue's like this.

The FOB can be tricky. I was working in the yard one day and noticed my rear hatch opening up. After the second time that happened I solved the problem by buying one of those protective covers available for the FOB. Now the buttons are a bit recessed and I have not had any more problems.

Protective cover, good idea. Thanks. I also once had all the windows open up while car was parked. Alarm & windows likely "FOB in pocket" syndrome. Do dealers sell the covers?

Where did you buy the covers?

Where did you buy the covers?

I got it on Amazon. Although the description indicates that it is for the Explorer the Energi FOB is the same and the fit is fine.

Here is the link.

The only downside to this cover is that it makes access to the Key very difficult. That is not a problem for me as I never have a need for the key. I got a black one and you can see how the buttons are now a bit more protected in the attached picture.

While a cover might  help to reduce the possibility, it's not gonna 100% solve the possibility of the pocket activation issue.

I had mine go off at work today while climbing into a customers truck

When I'm at home, my key is on my desk after having the hatch open at night.

Good thing I have security cameras :happy feet:
