I work at the top of a large steep hill. I use my brick to charge the car while at work, and usually have fully charged by the time I leave. But yesterday it was still charging (around 90%) due to some lunchtime errands. This is a 2013 Energi.
I head down the hill, and softly ride the brakes all the way down the hill, but at the bottom of the hill a dash warning flashes "PULL OVER SAFELY" with a red triangle icon with exclamation mark inside, and the yellow engine icon appears, and the fans start blowing like mad.
I was in EV mode, the car was full of gas, but the climate controls were off before the warning occurred.
I pull over, power down the car, and sit for a while completely bewildered. When I try to start it, the same warning shows, and I can't drive the car, it won't let me. I try it again, same thing. Finally after the fans turn off, I powered up the car and went on my way with no issues since.
I just read this article, but it's not the Energi? Same issue?
