I grew up with a green Buick that I named "The Turtle" (obvious reasons).  I'm not yet sure what color C-Max I'm going to end up with, so am holding off on a name, but it's obviously NOT going to be a Turtle, and they don't even have green, anyway.

What are y'all naming your C-Maxes?

Certainly not based on performance. Unless your other car is a Ferrari.

I've never been one to name inanimate objects like a car, and don't quite get why people do it, but to each his own.  Doesn't someone here have a signature along the lines of "don't anthropomorphize your C-Max, it doesn't like it"?

I thought about naming mine, but nothing clever or useful comes to mind.  I watched a review of the Engeri on YouTube where the guy had named his C-Max Energi test unit "Fred" because the front-end of the C-Max looks like a guppy's head, and his pet guppy was Fred.  I don't know about looking like a guppy, but maybe a catfish face.

Slug

Disgruntled owner?

Um, I think that was actually supposed to be ironic...ya know, something along the lines of the C-Max having feelings of like and dislike about things like being anthropomorphized, which actually makes it seem rather...human.

Oh, DistortedEnergi, I am NOT a disgruntled owner. Slug was named because I find wordplay rather entertaining, and slug is one of those neat words with a variety of definitions. Here are a few of the definitions:

The C-Max shape somewhat resembles a:  1) projectile fired from a gun bullet,  2) terrestrial gastropod,  3) heavy piece of crude metal

Its speed can be described as:  4) a projectile fired from a gun bullet (on-ramp),  5) a slow-moving gastropod (accelerating with no traffic around or braking to maximize regen),  6) idle in a listless or dreamy way (stop-light silence),  7) plod as if through snow (Wisconsin here),  8) mass that will acquire an acceleration of 1 foot per second per second when acted upon by a force of 1 pound,  9) One slug is approximately equal to 32.17 pounds, see #8

This definition relates to my side job (manufacturing audio inductance coils):  10) a magnetic core that screws into or out of an inductance coil to adjust the tuning of a radio frequency amplifier

These two are contradictory, or maybe not  :headscratch: :  11) a gold coin of California, issued in 1849 and worth 50 dollars,  12) a disk used illegally as a coin

:smile2: New to me:  13) To wait for or obtain a ride to work by standing at a roadside hoping to be picked up by a driver who needs another passenger to use the HOV lanes of a highway

I've had my old Corolla for the past 9 years. Never named it ... then it was time to let it go to buy a shiny new C-Max. That's when my gf got sentimental. She named the Corolla "Coco" and the new C-Max is Maxou. Having a surname helps when tracking your MPG on fuelly :)

Ooh, so many good ideas!

If it all works out (afraid to jinx it), I will be getting the Blue Candy.  (Awful name for a car color for a grown-up.)

I like "Blueberry,"  "Max," "Tardis," and am also considering "Dumbledore," "Frodo," and "Gus."

Although in "Get Smart," 99 was the one with brains, not Maxwell Smart.

I dunno.  "Frodo the Ford" has kind of a nice ring to it...and Dumbledore was absolutely magical...

If you are taking votes, I like name 99.

I didn't name mine. My granddaughter calls it PaPa's car.
