I was trying to clean Windshield but I was not able to easily lift Wiper blade. I dont want to lift harder since I dont know whether anything could damage. How do I simply lift wiper to clean windshield ?

The wipers don't clear the hood in the parked position.

You'll either need to turn them on and stop them in the opened position or open the hood to clean under them.

It would be best to stop them near the A pillar by turning the ign. off when they reach the end of their stroke.

Clean the spot where they rest and re-park them.

The manual says to

1. Make sure that the outside of the

windshield is free from snow and ice.
2. Switch on the ignition.
3. Switch off the ignition, and move
the wiper lever to position A within
three seconds. Hold the lever in
position A.
4. Release the lever when the
wipers have moved to the service
position.

easy-peasy

Thanks Blueberry Bruce!  I'm a new C-Max Energi owner -- Was scratching my head about how to get the wipers up and outta the way to clean the windshield and your tip helped.

As far as I know, there isn't an analogous procedure for the rear wiper, nor does it lift very far off the glass. I think that, for that, you just have to carefully slide your rag or squeegee under the gently lifted blade. {Jonathan}

To clarify to the procedure above: Unlike a lot of other, older vehicles, the front wipers will auto park even if you shut off the car mid-wipe. As such, that's what the 'service position' procedure posted is there for.

Is Position A the one to do a single wipe?

Yep. Push down and hold when directed to in step 3 and when the wipers stop about halfway up the windshield you are done.
