Hazard light thing.

Power up the car without the brake (will not get the green GO car).

Push the hazard button 6 times.  Once it turns it on, once it turns it off, so like 3 on/off cycles.

The car will beep and say "Train left tire"

You drain the air until the car beeps and then move on to the next tire.

Fill all tires first to where you want them to be, then start the procedure.

After all 4 tires the car beeps twice.

Then you fill the tires back up to the original pressure.

You need to train them every time you chance the running pressure.  In other words if you increase the pressure for better mpg numbers, retrain all the tires to the new setting.

Tried this multiple times, in multiple ways, today--could not get it to get into training mode. No beep, no message, no anything. Wondering if there are other settings necessary to make this happen. Thanks. {Jonathan}

Here is a video of it, I'm on PA at my buddy's house just went out and did the exercise for you:

https://youtu.be/_xONh94atKc

Car is doing great, I've got 75mpg just about average on this trip to NY and PA to far, just over 6 gallons burned will have enough to get home all in the same tank :)

By the way, back then I was unable to train my tires to a higher trigger pressure as I thought I could do above, if someone figures out a way to do it without going to the shop to see a mechanic or get the IDS tool let me know and many thanks.

Thanks. I note you have the car plugged in. I'll do exactly what you did and see if it works. If not, I may need a bit of dealer computer intervention or something. {J}

I don't that it's required to have the car plugged in, but let me know how that works for you.

For newer Fords, I think 2014 or higher, you have to do the following procedure.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, then press and release the brake pedal.

2. Cycle the ignition switch from the OFF position to the RUN position 3 times, ending in the RUN position.

3. Press and release the brake pedal.

4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

5. Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the RUN position 3 times, ending in the RUN position.

*The horn will sound once and the TPMS indicator will flash if the training mode has been entered successfully.  If equipped, the message center will display TRAIN LF TIRE.*

Just wondering where you found this?

Also, "Train LF Tire"? Does this only train the left front tire, or all TPMS?

That's just the first prompt.

It will show the following succession:

Train Left Front Tire

Train Right Front Tire

Train Right Rear Tire

Train Left Rear Tire

Super. Does this train to the current PSI, or just to the default PSI?

AKAIK, this just teaches the TPMS in the vehicle the position of the wheel sensors.

That "new" procedure seems alot more complicated.  Did Ford want to make sure people don't stumble on it by mistake?  2013 was alot easier.

Steve, while I was able to "train" each individual tire, the trigger PSI remained at 26 I was unable to make that any higher.

I've seen that, and suspect it (or something like it) may work for me when the 6x Hazards consistently hasn't on my 2015 (not for lacking of trying and trying and trying, trust me). Is this the same for cars like ours where one doesn't actually turn the ignition switch, given that there's no key? {Jonathan}

I found it on a Ford Focus forum and it works on my 2014 C-Max Energi, just push the button.  I only got it to the TRAIN LF TIRE but have not got around to deflating all my tires.

Not for nothing but we don't have an ignition switch with a key?

If all you have is low pressure, fill up the tires back to the proper pressure, or whatever pressure you want above the Ford value on the driver door sticker.
Then the TPMS will reset itself  automatically and quit bugging up.

I understand some people want to change the warning threshold, but that isn't necessary to simply get rid of the TMPS warning.  Just fill up the tires and drive around the block.
