I didn't notice it until yesterday--first sunny day since I bought the car!  Now, of course, it's all I can see.

I think I'll do the sharpie thing, too, with painter's tape to avoid hitting the vent/dash.

Would you mind very much posting a pic?

Here it is. Now the only thing I see in the reflection is the vent damper wheel - but it's much more tolerable.

I agree - nice job!  Think I will try that too as the reflection is very bad with our tinted windows.

I don't know what I did wrong, but mine looks AWFUL. I put masking tape on and everything, but it's all streaky, smeary and uneven. I think my sharpie
Is kinda old, but...Crap. (Am I allowed to say that here?). I may have to use magic Eraser and take it off, it looks so bad.

I used a standard fine point sharpie - but it was new...

Ugh.  First time I've ever had windows tinted (2013 C-Max energi) and first thing I noticed--after 20 minutes of bliss--is the annoying, perhaps dangerous, reflection in both outside mirrors but predominately the driver side.  My wife said that she noticed it a few days ago, before tinting, but I hadn't until tinting.  I'll give it a week to cure but I may have to go sharpie route, too.  I really find it annoying now but I'm very nervous about taking a permanent marker to my brand new car.  Funny thing is that I googled "annoying tint reflection with rear view mirror" and this is the first link.  I didn't even specify Ford or C-Max.  Tells you (and perhaps you, Ford) that this IS a real problem.

I have the unique position of having both a CMax with and without tinting.  The reflection is there in both but I no longer notice it in either car.

I have been driving my CMax for about the month.  My Max was tinted by the dealer (I didn't want it and negotiated the cost out of my price) and once the sun came out here, I noticed the reflection right away and I do think, at least for me - a very short-waisted driver - it is a safety hazard.  It is going on my list of things that need to be dealt with by the dealer.
