I picked up MADMAX from FORD today and they say my ScanGaugeII numbers are High. After driving on the the FWY for awhile TFT got up to 180's as compared to 120's with FORD Scanner.  To add to the confusion I keep putting my fingers on the Trans Cooler Lines and they are cool to the touch with OT of 70*F.  It would be helpful if other members would check their Trans Coolant Lines after 30+ minute trips to see if their lines are cool or hot. Working on getting a new scanner to see if that makes a difference. :smile2:

I tried the number out and I believe that the TFT is to low now. This morning I took Pics of ScanGaugeII .

                                                         TFT                   WT                  IT

1. Temps before plugging in Heaters     107                    92                   87

2. 5min later changed MATH #              80                     96                   87

3. 1 hour later with heaters on              101                   125                  96

4. drove 2.4mi to work                         100                   154                  98   OT 57*F

checked Trans with IR Thermometer     105*F

I will keep taking Pics and IR Therometer measurements  and also checking Trans Cooler lines.  I got 70*F on one and 73*F on the other.

I did check out this change and it works well. I did however find another TFT formula that also works and will show to the tenth of a degree display when TFT is under a hundred degrees F.

 

Transmission Temp: units degrees F

TXD: 07E6221E1C
RXF: 0462851E061C
RXD: 3010
Mth : 000900080140
NAM: TFT

 

The formula for this xgauge is: ((((A)*256)+B)*(9/8)+320)/10 

The /10 in the formula is obtained by the 8 in the fifth position of RXF.

If this uses the conversion formula from C to F as it appears to, the formula needs to be corrected:

((((A)*256)+B)*(9/8)+320)/10  should be ((((A)*256)+B)*(9/5)+320)/10

It's not converting °C to °F(ringe), it's converting 0.0625°C to °F

I have seen these gauges in some lists I found online. They were listed with the module 07E1 that does not appear valid in the CMax. I have not yet had a chance to try out these gauges. Have you tried other modules such as 07E4 or 07E6?

Have you used the command mode to send the Mode and Pid to see if there is some sort of response? The response does not show the sending module, but if there is a reasonable response, searching through the possible modules by xgauge programming might not be futile.

If there are some results then the math needs to be check to determine if the formula works out. It is generally the formulas that I struggle the most with.

Per a request from Gary I am posting an xGauge that is supposed to provide the status of rebalancing. This is still a work in progress. So far I have only observed displays showing 0000 and 0001. From my observations the 0001 does seem to indicate that rebalancing is in progress but I am reserving judgement over these results to see if these displays actually make any sense.

 

battery re-balance state

TXD: 07E4224818

RXF: 046215480618

RXD: 3008

MTH: 000100010000

NAM: BAL


With RXD aabb where bb=08 indicates one byte of data returned.

The RXF of 1 in the 5th position indicates the data should return a Hex number.

 

This table shows what the display should mean for the BAL xgauge:

 

01 Rebalance in progress

02 Rebalance completed successfully

03 Rebalance aborted - battery fault

04 Rebalance initializing

05 Rebalance aborted by vehicle

06 Rebalance aborted upon request

07 Rebalance aborted due to battery temp out of range

08 Rebalance can't be started due to battery fault

09 Rebalance can't be started - vehicle did not allow

0A Rebalance can't be started due to battery temp out of range

0B Rebalance suspended

0C Rebalance can't be started - maintenance mode in progress

0D Rebalance can't be started - too many attempts

0E Rebalance aborted - tester no longer present

 

Currently I am assuming that the 0000 indicate that no rebalance has recently occurred. After battery discharged and while driving in Hybrid I saw BAL change to 0001. At least I know this xgauge is doing something.

I have also seen the 0001 after receiving the HVB message from MyFordMobile and the light ring around the charge plug was on for an extended period of time. Also my level 2 charger indicated that charging was still in progress.

 

At this time I can make no promises about the validity of this gauge. So any additional testing and input would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has questions I will do my best to provide an answer.
